Professional articles and guides

Thoroughly researched and optimised articles that answer online customer questions, demonstrate your expertise and strengthen important website pages.

A good article should do more than fill a space on your website. It should give someone a genuinely useful answer and, where appropriate, guide the right reader towards a relevant service or next step.

I research, plan and write articles for small businesses, national companies and other organisations. Each one is shaped around the subject, the intended audience and what the content needs to achieve, not produced from a generic template or written simply to include a list of keywords.

Discuss an Article or Content Plan

More Than a Blog Post

Many business blogs contain short, disconnected posts that say very little and lead nowhere. Publishing more content does not automatically make a website more useful or more visible.

The aim is to create something worth reading: a clear answer, an interesting explanation or a dependable resource that reflects what the organisation genuinely knows.

A well-chosen article can:

  • answer questions customers ask before making contact
  • explain a complicated subject in plain English
  • demonstrate practical knowledge while supporting an important service or product page
  • cover searches that a sales page cannot answer naturally
  • provide useful material for Google Business Profile and social posts
  • connect related website pages
  • continue helping readers after it is published

Not every article needs to be directly about a product or service. You may also have useful, helpful or simply interesting information that your likely customers would enjoy. A caravan business could publish practical touring advice; an energy company might explain changes affecting householders; a local organisation could produce guidance about its area or community.

In these cases, the connection is the audience rather than an immediate sale. The subject should still make sense for the organisation and the people it wants to reach, but it does not have to end with a commercial message.

The subject comes first. Search optimisation supports the article; it should not dictate awkward wording or turn useful information into a sales pitch.

This people-first approach is explored further in Your SEO Might Be Showing Its Age.

Different Subjects Need Different Types of Content

There is no fixed article length or format. I can prepare:

  • short blog posts covering a focused question, update or useful observation;
  • interesting audience-led articles that likely customers may enjoy, even when the subject is not directly tied to a service;
  • consumer advice that helps people understand a problem, compare options or avoid common mistakes;
  • detailed guides, checklists and comparisons for subjects that need a fuller explanation; and
  • long, complex technical or regulatory articles that require careful research, reliable sources and a clear structure.

A straightforward question may need only a concise answer. A safety, engineering, legal or energy-related subject may require much more detail. The length follows the subject and the reader’s needs, not an arbitrary word count.

What the Service Can Include

The precise work depends on the subject, your website and what you want the article to achieve. A complete guide or article can include:

Research and planning

  • learning about your organisation, customers and intended audience
  • identifying useful questions, concerns and gaps in existing content
  • researching search results, terminology, related questions and competing articles
  • checking authoritative, technical or regulatory sources where appropriate
  • deciding the purpose, angle and working title, including any pages the article should support

Writing and structure

  • complete, original copy in a natural and appropriate tone
  • an engaging introduction, concise quick answer and logical heading structure
  • short paragraphs, lists, tables, steps or FAQs where they improve understanding
  • examples and analogies that make difficult subjects easier to follow
  • a contents section for longer guides and an appropriate next step where relevant

On-page preparation

  • a recommended URL slug, page title and meta description
  • internal and external links, including anchor text and placement guidance
  • image ideas, positioning, dimensions, filenames and alt text
  • layout, typography and suitable structured-data recommendations
  • relevant tags or categories where the website uses them

Not every article needs every element. FAQs, images, schema and other features are included when they improve the page, not simply to make the specification look more technical.

Written Around Your Knowledge, Not Instead of It

You already have the expertise. A few notes, important facts and common customer questions are usually enough for me to turn that knowledge into useful content worth finding.

I combine what you know with independent research and a clear content structure. I may ask about common misunderstandings, problems you regularly see and what makes your approach different. For technical or safety-related subjects, I check reliable sources and separate established facts from advice that depends on individual circumstances.

The result should sound informed and specific to your organisation. It should not read like interchangeable copy that could sit on any competitor’s website.

I’ll learn the subject. I’ll research it. I’ll write it. I’ll optimise it. I’ll connect it to the rest of the website and make sure it reflects the organisation’s actual expertise.

How the Process Works

1. Choose the subject and purpose

You may already have a topic in mind, or I can review your services, existing content, competitors and likely customer searches. Every article is given a clear job: answering a question, explaining a service, overcoming a concern or supporting an important page.

2. Research the subject

I investigate what customers are searching for, what competing pages already cover, what they miss and which reliable sources can support the article. The aim is to produce something clearer or more useful, not to rewrite the pages already ranking.

3. Write and optimise the article

I turn the research into readable, well-organised copy. Headings, links, metadata, images and any suitable structured data are considered as part of the page.

4. Review it with you

You check the business-specific details and identify anything that needs clarification. I then make the agreed refinements and prepare the final version.

5. Supply or publish it

The finished article is supplied as an implementation-ready package or added directly to the website where suitable access and an agreed platform allow.

Supplied for Your Website - or Added Directly

You do not need to give me control of your website to use this service.

I can provide the finished copy with its headings, links, metadata, image instructions, schema markup recommendations and other relevant details. You can add it yourself or pass it to the person who manages your website. They receive finished material and clear instructions, not a broad report telling them to “write more content”.

Where the platform and access are suitable, I may be able to add and format the article directly. I generally carry out this work on Duda, where I can prepare the page, apply the agreed on-page details and check the finished result. Work on other platforms depends on the system, access and agreed scope.

If I publish the article, the work can also include:

  • formatting the desktop and mobile layouts;
  • adding images, metadata and supported structured data;
  • checking the presentation and connecting it to relevant website pages; and
  • submitting or checking the page through Google Search Console where access permits.

Some platforms generate parts of the metadata or article markup automatically. I check what the system already provides rather than duplicating code or adding unsupported elements.

Indexing and rankings cannot be guaranteed, but the article will be properly researched, organised and prepared for its intended website.

One Article or a Connected Content Plan

Research-led, professionally written articles and guides that inform potential customers, support existing customers and help search engines understand your expertise.

A single article can answer an important question or improve on something competitors have covered poorly. A connected group can build a broader library around your services, products and audience’s interests. This is not about filling a publishing schedule; each subject should have a reason for being there and a logical connection to the rest of the website.

Where appropriate, I can:

  • review the articles already on your website
  • identify missing, outdated or overlapping subjects and prioritise the strongest ideas
  • create a practical content plan
  • write individual articles or an agreed series
  • suggest related Google Business Profile, LinkedIn or social content

See how your website, Google Business Profile and selected social channels can work together as one connected online presence.

Who Is This Service For?

This service is particularly useful for:

  • established businesses with strong knowledge but little time to write;
  • technical or specialist companies that need accurate explanations;
  • businesses whose service pages cannot answer every customer question;
  • website owners or site managers who need finished, properly prepared material;
  • Duda website owners who want articles added, formatted and published for them;
  • organisations that want to demonstrate expertise and build trust through useful long-term content; and
  • local councils, energy companies and other organisations that need to explain complex information clearly to a broad audience.

It can also help if you have tried generic or low-cost content and found that it lacks detail, accuracy, personality or a clear connection to the rest of your website.

The scope is agreed before work begins, so you know what will be researched, written, supplied and, where applicable, published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you suggest article subjects for my business?

Yes. I can examine your services, existing website, competitors and the questions potential customers search for. I then recommend subjects with a clear reason for being published rather than producing a generic list of blog ideas.

Does every article need to promote one of my services?

No. Useful consumer advice, industry information, local guidance and other interesting subjects can help people discover and remember an organisation. The topic should still suit the audience and the wider website, but it does not need to contain a sales message.

Can you add the article to my website?

Sometimes. I generally work directly within Duda websites. Publishing on another platform depends on the system, access and what we agree before work starts. Alternatively, I can provide a complete package for you or your website manager to implement.

How long should an article be?

As long as it needs to be to explain the subject properly. A short blog may answer one focused question, while a technical or regulatory guide may require much more detail.

Will an article improve my Google rankings?

A strong article can make a website relevant to more searches and support related pages through internal linking. However, no article or SEO service can guarantee a particular ranking. Competition, website quality, authority, location and other factors also affect visibility.

Can you improve an article I already have?

Yes. I can review its accuracy, usefulness, structure, headings, links, metadata and relationship with the wider website, then rewrite or expand it where needed.

Turn What You Know Into Content Customers Can Use

If your organisation has useful knowledge, ideas or advice that are not yet explained clearly online, I can turn them into content with a defined purpose and a natural place within your website.

You can receive a complete package for your own team or website manager to use, or we can discuss direct publishing where the platform and access make that practical.
